  • Closed loop system: from a whole waste water filtration and recycling plant to the entire camp being run on solar energy to electric land cruisers to a biodigester to turn organic waste into fuel for cooking this camp relies on v limited resources that aren’t natural.
  • Support the local area: established a recycling centre in neighbouring town (Talek) and all ingredients for the ‘farm to fork meals’ are found locally, this ensures sustainable job creation and empowerment.
  • Eliminating single use items from using the bricknics to bbq meals, beeswax to cover food, loose leaf tea rather than tea bags. Even the camps furniture is made by their own team using wood from their own local plantation.
  • Eco-luxury: enjoy a dip in a pool in the savannah, but a completely natural pool that has no chemicals and solar heated showers after a long day in the bush.
  • Plant a Tree in the famous Maasai Mara, every guest plants a tree before leaving Emboo, leaving their mark and offsetting the carbon footprint.

Emboo River Camp was amazing. I couldn’t have picked a better place for my stay in the Masai Mara. It was so nice to have practically everything all included – food, lodging, game drives.

This is an Eco Lodge, every thing here is Eco friendly. The vehicles for game drive are electrically driven, the whole Camp uses solar energy, all water being used here is recycled with natural technology, they even have a beautiful kitchen garden!
