Six years ago, Travel4Purpose was just an idea. A big dream with an even bigger question:
What if travel could genuinely give back?
Fast forward to today and we’re still pinching ourselves…
Travel4Purpose is the winner of the ATTA Emerging Changemaker Award 2026 (Seedling Category)!
We were even in London to receive the award in person at Experience Africa, surrounded by some of the most inspiring changemakers and leaders in African tourism. It was a moment we’ll never forget.
Our very first award!
What makes this award even more special is the category we won. The ATTA Emerging Changemaker Award (Seedling Category) recognises businesses that demonstrate a genuine commitment to supporting local communities and protecting the environment, driven by passionate leadership, innovative thinking and strong partnerships. For us, it affirms that the journey we’ve been building since we began is creating the kind of impact we always hoped it would… That travel can be a force for good for people, local communities and Mother Earth!
It’s hard to put into words what this moment means. Standing on that stage in London wasn’t just about accepting an award… It was a celebration of every partnership we’ve built, every community we’ve worked alongside, every local guide we’ve championed and every traveller who’s chosen to travel with purpose.
Over the past six years, we’ve learned that meaningful change doesn’t happen overnight. It takes courage, collaboration, plenty of persistence and a whole lot of people who believe that travel can be a force for good. This award celebrates exactly that.
So, while today we’re celebrating this incredible milestone, we’re also celebrating everyone who has been part of the journey. Because this recognition belongs to ALL of us.
Recognition That Means the World
To be recognised by the African Travel & Tourism Association (ATTA) through the ATTA for Action Awards is an incredible honour. These awards celebrate organisations across Africa that are using tourism to create meaningful, lasting impact.
A huge thank you to ATTA for believing in our vision and recognising the work we’re doing to help shape a future where travel gives back to people, places and the planet.
To everyone who has backed this idea from the beginning: our travellers, partners, communities, supporters, family, friends and every single person who has cheered us on, thank you! It truly means the world.
We’re especially proud that this recognition shines a light on the incredible people behind Travel4Purpose. Our local guides are the heart of what we do. Seeing their passion, knowledge and dedication receive global recognition is every bit as rewarding as receiving the award itself.
And finally, congratulations to all of this year’s finalists. To be recognised alongside so many inspiring organisations working to make tourism more responsible, inclusive and regenerative is a privilege.
Together, we’re proving that tourism can create lasting positive change and that’s something worth celebrating.
