Meet your friendly guide outside Fort Jesus and start by visiting a local man who started making coffee as a living 20+ years ago and now serves Swahili coffee to locals overlooking Mombasa Creek. Enjoy sipping on coffee with the sea breeze among the Swahili after-work buzz.
You’ll then proceed to try the famous bite size snacks made my a lovely lady who will share her story of how she started this small business and how to make the snacks, while sipping on sugarcane juice.
Snack on the variety of snacks, full of different flavours.
Finally head to Mama Ngina drive, the ultimate Mombasa hangout spot for coconut water and snacks while overlooking the Indian Ocean.

Carry a filled water bottle, it can get hot! Wear comfortable walking shoes, a fair amount of walking will be included.
Carry some cash in Shillings or Mpesa on your phone and you can get as much extra as you’d like!
We suggest doing the tour between 4-6pm, as the sun is a bit cooler and more street food vendors are open.
We really enjoyed the street food tour in Mombasa. Qamili was knowledgeable and laid back. Some great small spots and good info about the food and culture.
We had an amazing time on Qamili’s food tour! It was our first time in Mombasa, and it was so great to have a local show us the best spots. We also loved just being able to stroll the streets and learn about Mombasa’s fascinating history. Thanks Qamili!!
T4P planned two incredible tours for us, and everything was flawlessly organized! Our first tour was a safari at Nairobi National Park. The guide picked us up right on time, and the experience was nothing short of amazing—we saw so many incredible animals up close! The second tour was a food tour in Mombasa, and we loved every moment of it. Not only did we get to taste delicious local cuisine, but we also learned so much about the rich history of Old Mombasa as we explored the area.I highly recommend T4P for your tours—they’re exceptionally well-organized, and the guides are warm, knowledgeable, and friendly!
We had an amazing food tour in Mombasa organized by T4P, we loved all the food we tried and learning about the history of old town. Tyson was a great guide.
Delayed review of Mombasa food tour in Feb 2024 booked via travel4purpose. This tour was great and super easy to book via Sham. Chaqula was an excellent guide in Mombasa with all the snacks super tasty, supporting local businesses. Would book something via travel4purpose again in future!
