Mombasa is known as the melting pot of Kenya, with a number of different cultures coming together. This is shown in the Old Town Market, with a variety of vendors selling a range of products. Next is the famous Tusks, snap a picture if you wish!
Visit the ultimate chill out spot with an authentic buzz in Mombasa. Walk through Mama Ngina, with the peaceful ocean on one side and busting street food vendors on the other.
Carry a copy of your passport/ ID at all times. A water bottle is advisable to avoid buying single use plastic and it can get pretty warm. Wear comfortable walking shoes!
Carry some cash in Shillings or Mpesa on your phone and you can get as much extra as you’d like!
We suggest doing the tour between 3-6pm, as the sun is a bit cooler and more street food vendors are open.
Of course, the guides have a lot of knowledge and know where is the best to shop. Ask away.
I booked the Mombasa City and Street Food Tour. It was an incredible experience. The company are very professional and their correspondence was excellent, they were very flexible and helpful when organising. The tour itself was great fun, led by a charismatic guide – it was well organised and had a good balance of food and historical sites. An experience I will always cherish. If you are in Kenya, these are the guys to go to.
