I had no idea what went into my morning cup until this tour. Walking through the farm, watching the sorting, and then actually roasting my own beans was genuinely one of the coolest things I’ve done. The guide knew everything and made it so easy to understand. Ended it all with a coffee on the rooftop looking over the farm — honestly perfect. If you’re in Nairobi, just go.
Such a lovely way to spend a morning out of the city. Twenty minutes from Nairobi and it feels like a completely different world — green, quiet, and smelling of fresh coffee. We loved meeting the women who work on the farm and hearing their stories. Felt good to know our visit was actually contributing something real to the community. We brought home our roasted beans and they’re honestly the best coffee we’ve had.

Roasting my own batch was something I did not expect to enjoy as much as I did. The whole tour is very hands-on which I appreciated — you’re not just being talked at, you’re actually involved in every step. The snack and coffee at the end on the rooftop was a nice touch. Small group felt intimate and unhurried.
We did this with our two teenagers and it was one of those rare activities where everyone was equally engaged. The kids loved the roasting part especially, and my husband and I appreciated learning about how Kenya’s coffee actually reaches the world. There’s real thought put into how this tour is run — the local employment angle, the women from the community, the education piece — it all adds up to something that feels worthwhile beyond just a fun outing. Would recommend to any family looking for something different on a weekend.
